Dr. Laura Danly
Out of Darkness
As Curator of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, Dr. Laura Danly is responsible for all public, educational, and telescope programs. She also writes, produces, and directs its planetarium shows. Earlier in her career, Dr. Danly was an astronomer at NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute for ten years, where she was also the first Project Scientist for Education. She has been communicating complex ideas in science to the public for over thirty years.
Alexandra Fuller My Liberation is Tied Up With Yours
Alexandra Fuller was born in the UK in 1969, and raised in Rhodesia during that country’s Bush War. She’s the author of several books; most recently QUIET UNTIL THE THAW. Her work has appeared in a wide range of publications including National Geographic Magazine, Harper’s Magazine and the New Yorker.
Brian Greene
Greene, a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University, has focused on unified theories for more than 25 years, and has written several best-selling and non-technical books on the subject including The Elegant Universe, a Pulitzer finalist, and The Fabric of the Cosmos — each of which has been adapted into a NOVA mini-series. His latest book, The Hidden Reality, explores the possibility that our universe is not the only universe.
Keely Herron
The Only Way Out is Through
Keely is writer and strategist with nearly 20 years experience in advertising and business. She has lived and worked in Minneapolis, New York, Barcelona and London and eventually packed it all up to live the dream in Jackson Hole. She has a BA in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain.
Beth McIntosh Musical performance
Singer/songwriter Beth McIntosh is a Wyoming native who has performed across the nation, recorded multiple albums and influenced hundreds of students. Her sons Wilden and Rainer McIntosh-Round will join her for a musical performance of a journey through fire toward redemption and victory.
Andrew Munz Edge of the Fjord
Andrew was born in 1987 in Catskill, NY, then grew up in Jackson Hole. He has been a long-standing, dedicated member of the local theatre and writing communities. Andrew is best known as the writer and director of the Jackson-based theatrical trilogy, “I Can Ski Forever”, the third of which he wrote as an original musical. An avid traveler to Iceland, he has worked as a whale watching guide and a sous chef in a remote, rural fjord. As a novelist, he is represented by Bradford Literary Agency.
Dr. Laura Peticolas Eclipse Megamovie
Dr. Laura Peticolas is a Senior Fellow at the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley, and Director of Multiverse, the Space Sciences Laboratory’s education group. Dr. Peticolas leads the Eclipse Megamovie project, leads a program to provide research experiences for undergraduates, and consults on national education projects.
Erik Vance Chronic Pain: Shedding the Second Dark Age
Erik Vance is an award-wining science writer who writes about the brain and how it affects the body. He has written for the New York Times, Harper’s, Scientific American, and the cover of National Geographic. In researching his latest book, Suggestible You, he was poked, prodded, burned, electrocuted, hypnotized and even cursed by a witchdoctor, all in the name of science.
Laurie Works
Becoming a Wounded Healer
Laurie Works grew up in a cult-like family structure, kept in place by a delusional father. She witnessed a shooting in a church parking lot that killed her twin sister, Stephanie, and younger sister, Rachel. Laurie has married and then divorced and rebuilt a life in the aftermath, made up of courage, vulnerability, and presence. She is studying to become a clinical mental health counsellor.
